Got hit by a speeding car in Magnolia while walking my dog — need help and advice

Hi all — I’m posting here because a day ago I got hit by a car in Magnolia while walking my dog, and I’m still trying to process everything.

The car was speeding through a residential area (where the limit is 25 mph), going uphill. I was crossing the street — halfway through — and saw it coming fast. I tried to put my hand out and pull my dog back, and that’s the last thing I remember. Witnesses said I got hit on my left side, hit the windshield hard enough to break it with my head, and then landed on the ground. I blacked out. I thought the driver killed my dog but thankfully he’s okay.

The car was going at least 30+ mph, maybe more. I woke up surrounded by blood and some kind bystanders helped me and called an ambulance. My dog is okay, thankfully, but I have injuries and possibly a concussion — still figuring that out.

I have a few questions and would appreciate any help:

1. If anyone witnessed this or has pictures/video, could you please reach out? That would really help. 2. What should I do next? I’m unsure if I need to file a police report, or if that’s automatic with an ambulance. My family is coming to help me, but I’m still foggy and trying to figure things out. 3. Speeding in Magnolia: This isn’t a one-time thing. I constantly see cars speeding on this and nearby streets — especially going uphill/downhill. Is there any way to request traffic calming measures (like stop signs or speed bumps)? It feels really unsafe.

Thanks in advance — I’m just trying to make sense of this, heal, and figure out how to prevent this from happening to someone. And dont worry I got some help typing this out.
