Friends of Seattle’s Olmsted Parks hosts a series of free guided walks each summer; the first is coming up on Saturday, May 17th, from 10-12. — Three small parks in the Denny Blaine neighborhood adjoin Lake Washington Boulevard as it winds its way along hair-pin curves south of Madison Park. This tour is of a lesser known segment of the system, but a pivotal one. Two of the three parks exemplify public/private conflicts over use and “ownership” of park land – a seemingly perpetual tension. HELPFUL INFO Accessibility: This 1.5 mile loop walk is on a slope so please wear appropriate shoes. Please come prepared to walk both downhill and uphill on uneven ground and imperfect staircases. Location details: Meet at Lakeview Park where Lake Washington Blvd, East Harrison Street, and 37th Avenue East meet south of The Bush School.
