Expressing outrage here and at protests is healthy and important. Writing to your elected representatives within city government is arguably even more important.
Every resident of Seattle has several people who nominally represent them, not just one, and they should hear their constituents’ opinions on these sorts of things:
- Your local city council person who represents your district (you can look up your rep here)
- Citywide council mamber Sara Nelson
- Citywide council member Alexis Mercedes Rinck.
- City Attorney Ann Davison, who is up for reelection this year and ought to be that much more attuned to voters’ concerns.
Having exposed mandong protests is good. Demanding action from people in charge is even better.
