Escape Destinations appreciation post

This is my favourite public art piece in Seattle, and it has been for years. Any time I am in the area, I am always so excited to see what today’s destination is. I have discovered a multitude of works of literature and mythology through these signs which has expanded my knowledge, and I always feel so seen when a fictional place from a relatively obscure piece of media I really enjoy is displayed.

I always feel like the responses I get when I point it out to people is underwhelming. I’m always so excited when I catch it mid-rotation and always point it out to others around me so we can see where it lands together, but no one else ever cares.

So I just want to put it out there that I appreciate this art piece, and I love it, and I hope the people that update it know it is getting at least some of the love it deserves.
