I have been going to concerts my entire adult life: rock, hip hop, EDM, punk, etc.
Since 2020 I have noticed a pathetic and unfortunate experience in Seattle. At concerts at venues like The Crocodile no one dancing, people shushing, huge areas of space at the front but if you dare move forward you get accused of violating the rules. It is honestly so sad and lame. I thought it was just a few bad shows, but it’s honestly every live show these days. I don’t get it at all. If you want to stand there motionless and quiet, why not just listen at home??? As a musician I would be so sad to play before a crowd like this. Seattle used to be about it, WTF happened.
If I am wrong please set me straight, but I am so disappointed with my city. WTF have we become.
