Rooftop deck owners, did you go with IPE tiles or composite? Happy with the choice?

I’m working on a rooftop deck for my townhome and weighing two options:

1. Composite decking on a substructure of pedestals and 2×6 joists.
2. IPE deck tiles that sit directly on pedestals (no joists).

Do you have a similar setup? How do you like it? Where did you get your materials, and did you hire a contractor or DIY it?
