We’ve been in France on vacation for the last few weeks, and it’s been sad and surreal to watch things from afar. When we scheduled this trip a year ago we had no idea what the world would be.
Those of you attending the protests, thank you! Stay safe and stay strong. Take care of yourselves and each other. Ventless goggles and saline eyewash are effective against teargas. Loose cotton clothing you can easily remove if necessary is best.
Stay aware and agile, and be able to move if necessary – sitting/lying down in protest is a bad idea because teargas hugs the ground and it makes you a target for batons, rubber bullets and hoves. Don’t be provoked by the brown shirts, and don’t become a target.
The world is watching.
