Huge shout out to security guard Mohammad at the CH library who saved my scooter from being stolen. Addendum: Pics of the culprit might be forthcoming.

As I was unlocking my scooter after a quick visit to the CH library, the security guard came over and said he had interrupted someone using a power tool to saw through my lock. As you can see, it was almost complete! I asked his name, which was Mohammad. I am very thankful he was paying attention. If it wasn’t for him my scooter would have been gone.

About 5 hours later I stopped into Walgreens on Broadway and saw someone tinkering with a Lime scooter. Mohammad has given me a very brief description of the thief- wearing an Amazon vest, hat, hoodie. This person was wearing an Amazon vest and hat. No hoodie. But he was carrying two large backpacks that were full. I could see a flashlight in one pocket. He looked uncomfortable and quickly walked away when he saw I noticed him. I took a few pics.

I really feel it’s the same guy, I will try to get Mohammad to confirm if it’s the same person, If it is, I will post the pics.

But most of all I am grateful. So I wanted to give him a shoutout. I will definitely forward my appreciation to library management too.
