What owl in the area makes one long HOOOO like a sad little guy?

I live near seattle, and it’s about 1 AM, and I keep hearing one long, pathetic-sounding HOOO. no double hoots or anything, just like this morose little noise. idk, maybe I feel maternal towards owls now, but I am wondering what guys would make that noise? I am suburban woodsy area, for context
