Leading up to July 4, 2020 there was a rumor that some local Proud Boys were going to march on the Lenin statue in Fremont and topple it. When I went there in the afternoon, it looked like they had chickened out and just put a Trump sticker over his mouth. I’m not agile enough to climb the front face of the statue but I had some PVC pipe in the car (same stuff I used to make the giant sign holders) which was long enough to scrape it off. submitted by /u/bennetthaselton |
