ICE picked up my coworker

I work in Ballard with a beautiful group of people in the food service industry. Last week my coworker went on vacation, and for part of that he had to go to his immigration hearing. ICE picked him up, and now he has to self deport back to Cuba. I will never see him again.

I don’t know why I’m posting this. I guess as a warning. Or a reminder. Or maybe a cry out into the void.

I’m just so much at a loss. I feel helpless. More and more of this is going to happen. And it will be your friend or a family member too.

Please look out for each other. I don’t know what else to say.
