Is it just me, or have recent weather forecasts been a lot more inaccurate than usual?

For the past few months, I feel like I’ve seen a lot more instances where all of the weather forecasting services, including NWS, have been noticeably more off with their predictions than usual. Observed high temperatures have been like 10 degrees higher or lower than what was in the forecast. During the heat wave 3 weeks ago, we had several consecutive days well over 90 despite pretty much every site predicting high temps in the low or mid 80s. Then right after that, we had a bunch of days where the forecast called for high temps in the 80s, only for the actual high to barely reach low 70s.

It’s even more noticeable for precipitation. Outside of that atmospheric river we had last month, it seems like every time rain is in the forecast, we either don’t see a drop or it barely sprinkles. This past week alone, the NWS reported at least a 70-80% chance of rain for multiple days, and we got nothing. I was really hoping for some today.

I get that forecasting specifics is really hard in Western WA because of all of the mountains and water, and that most government-funded services are dealing with big staffing cuts. Still, the change in accuracy has felt quite stark. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I overreacting?
