I worked private ambulance and they were struggling because of declining government reimbursements. I got hired at Overlake earlier this year, and found out that they were also millions in the hole and have been initiating cost saving practices throughout the facility. They sent out an email informing that layoffs were to happen last week. We all know Valley Med’s going through issues Virginia Mason and all the other CHI facilities are cutting back. What’s going on? Does this extend every where else in the nation? What happens if this continues and it gets “bad”?
On the contrary, are there any major hospitals in the country that are thriving?
