Hit and run on 405

Hello everyone! I’m looking for some advice on what to do after being involved in a hit and run.

On September 30th I was crusing down 405 south on the very right lane right before taking exit 4 and someone came from the shoulder (I assume it was someone working on the freeway) and cut me off because they were trying to merge onto the freeway. I stepped on the brakes as hard and I could but unfortunately I still hit them. After the crash they drove off and I assumed he was going to stop so we can exchange insurance but they sped off down maple valley highway. I was always told to not chase so I didn’t and I have a dash cam so I have the license plate number along with the video of the crash. I also have filed a collision report with Washington State Police.

I am wondering if anyone has any advice for what additional things I should do. Should I also go to the Renton Police and file a report as well?

I am thinking that the person ran because they do not have insurance.
