Relocating to Bellevue

Hello everyone,

I will be relocating to Bellevue, and my office will be in the downtown area. I was planning to rent a small studio (I am single) nearby since I won’t have a car, but the rents in downtown are quite high.

Ideally, I wanted something within walking distance of the office, but that doesn’t seem realistic with my budget. My take-home pay is not very high, so I want to be mindful of expenses. My budget is roughly ~1300-1500 for rent, though I am not sure if that’s ambitious.

Are there nearby areas I should look into that are affordable and still have a reasonable public transit commute to downtown Bellevue? I have heard the light rail will help once it’s operational. I am not a big fan of living with roommates, though I am willing to consider it if it helps me save money.

Open to any suggestions.
