Back when Climate Pledge was still the Key Arena, I was volunteering once for one of the Rat City Roller Derby games and asked one of the security guards who was the nicest celebrity he’d ever met there.
He said Tina Turner was setting up before a show one time, and when he saw her grabbing a sandwich he said, “Oh are you having lunch?” and she smiled and said “No, we’re having lunch.” She invited him to join her on his lunch break and they just sat and talked for a bit. A few hours later she was playing to a sold-out crowd of 17,000 people.
Well she always did seem nice, even when she was trying to kill Mad Max you could tell it was all in good fun. Glad to know she was actually nice assuming the guard didn’t make the whole thing up.
I’m inclined to think he was telling the truth because I also asked him who was the biggest jerk and without hesitating he said “Kanye West”.
