Animal shelter or foster that could use a nearly new, briefly used futon cot?

We purchased this futon in cot (30″x75″) size a couple of months back, and used it for 3-5 weeks.

In my mind I didn’t equate this to a mattress, but Goodwill understandably did, and it’s sitting in the trunk of the Kia for a couple of weeks now.

Now I’m thinking that perhaps an animal shelter or foster parent could use it. It’s the perfect size for a larger dog who likes to spread out. I think our late Maltese would have tried his best in fact to use up the entire space.

Would anyone happen to know a shelter or foster parent who could use this? I hate having to toss it in the landfill, not only because bulk trash in our condo building downtown is hard to do and would put me out $30.

And not to be that guy, but preferably in Seattle proper. I do make it over to Styro Recycle in Kent every so often to drop off styrofoam for recycling, however.

It comes with a “protective cover” that to my uniformed eyes seems to be nothing more than a heavy sheet with zipper that wraps all around the futon. We put it in that on day one, and it’s never been removed from the cover.

But wait, there’s more! We also bought this “custom” cover which is approximately 1,000x more garish looking than anything the photo might suggest. Unused.

The futon is also perfectly good for a person as well, too, of course. That is what I had in my mind all along…
