Hey guys, I apologize if this is the wrong place for this. If it is, please direct me to a better place to post my question.
I was in renton a few weeks ago for work and just got a speeding ticket in the mail. The posted speed was 35, and I was going 39. On most days, no officer in their right mind cite this, but unfortunately I was victim to the camera systems of renton. I don’t want to pay this ticket, because it’s ridiculous for 4 over. I’m sure some people will disagree and that’s fair, but I’m not even from washington. I was just there for work, and I am unfamiliar with the area.
I am offered option on the back of the citation mailed to me, but I don’t agree with them. I can pay and be guilty. Or, I can do a mitigation hearing, which still makes me guilty but they reduce the fee, which again don’t want to be found guilty to this ridiculous ticket. I heard I could defer, but I don’t see that anywhere on the citation. Can anyone provide me with some insight/advice. The citation is only $124, so it’s not out of this world expensive. Would I just be wasting my time and money trying to get out of it? All help is appreciated, thanks!
