Big time shoutouts to the Seattle Theatre Group employees/volunteers

So to set the stage, a few weeks ago I went and saw David Byrne at the Paramount. Little needs to be said, he’s a legend. Go watch Stop Making Sense and American Utopia, you’ll regret missing out on those three shows he did.

Like 3 months ago, I finally got my driver’s license. This was the first trip I’ve done all by myself, no carpools, no waiting on somebody to show up, just me and all things considered, it went off without a hitch…..

….except for me losing my earplugs right before the show in the theater! See, I’m on the spectrum and I don’t really have visual overstimulation but rather audio and I try to bring these Vibes filtered earplugs to every show. They’re good but they ain’t cheap, like $25 a pair on Amazon. I feared the worst and I really didn’t want the experience of seeing my favorite musician of all time turn into a nightmare.

I asked the volunteers if they had any earplugs I could have or purchase, they raced off and got me a pair for free along with a lost and found report card since I told them the situation, I didn’t even have to go anywhere, they just told me to stay seated and they’d work it out. Already top notch service. While I’m sitting, I file a missing item report on their answering machine.

Weeks go by and I assume those expensive earplugs are long gone until finally in late November I get a text and a phone call that I missed, sure enough it was the STG Lost and Found, Derek specifically helped me. They found my earplugs and asked me if I could pick them up or should they have them shipped and I told them I could either send a friend to pick them up as I’m way out in the sticks or we could talk about shipping.

They shipped ’em. For free. All because of my mistake! Absolutely top-notch customer service, top-notch venue, top-notch show. Gotta give props, saved me a ton of time, worry and money.

This has been very long winded but I had to get this all out, super generous and accommodating customer service which in venues is so rare. Huge shoutouts to the volunteers that got me those earplugs and BIG TIME shoutouts to Derek from STG. Thank you all again. I will certainly come back.
