Hello, Seattle. TL:DR: 1) how are the local UA union halls? 2) any suggestions on how to prepare to move from welding school in Tennessee to Seattle? 3) information on local vs travel jobs in the area I’m a 40yo graduating welding school in February in Tennessee. I’m certified AWS stick and Tig in all positions and pipe and should have some exotic metal certs by the time I graduate. I’ve seen there are several Local UAs in the Seattle area and North to Burlington. I was a truck driver for many years and spent a good amount of time in Seattle and my GF lived there for 2 years. We love the PNW in general We’re looking to relocate and I was wondering if you guys had any feedback on what the local chapters are like. I want to travel but I’m also fine working around Seattle if the money is right. I feel like getting settled and organized at my local chapter would be a hindrance from us moving? I’ve had people tell me moving locals is difficult? I just am not getting any help from my instructor as he really is young and just doesn’t have the experience base with this stuff. Thank you guys Picture is just some old plate that I acid tested submitted by /u/Capable_Goat_577 |
