PSA: People who clean our storm drains are awesome!

I just wanted to shout out the fact I see so many people in my little corner of Ballard cleaning out clogged storm drains.

Obviously the ground is completely saturated right now. We’ve got another atmospheric river set to hit us.

That water that builds up on the street poses hazards for drivers, pedestrians, and is especially treacherous for disabled pedestrians.

If you’re one of the folks who isn’t afraid to put on a set of boots and bust out a rake to keep the drains free of leaves and the water off the streets, I salute you!

EDIT 2: All of the maps from the city are a little tough to use. I get that because API costs for stuff like google maps are insane. I found this one for the storm drain stenciling program to be easiest. The blue dots when you zoom in near you are really accurate in terms of where storm drains are located. Also considering getting a party together to spray paint some storm drains this spring/summer. DM me if you’re interested in joining!
