Local Seattle indie rock band Ms. Led (2002-2009)

KEXP’s Audioasis just played a track by this band (comprised of vocalist Lesli Wood, guitarist Peg Wood, bassist Matt Menovick and drummer Steph Hasselman), and I became OBSESSED. I’d never heard of them before. They were apparently a pop-punk-rock (???) band heavily influenced by the riot grrrl era, with in-your-face lyrics advocating feminism and gay rights and anti-war politics. The info offered by KEXP was just:

Indie rock / power pop quartet from Seattle, Washington! This is from a compilation of artists featured at Ladyfest Seattle 2003!

That website is really broken with dead images and links. It’s barely readable. I tried to look up more info on Google but there is very little that comes up. Their old Myspace isn’t even on Wayback Machine.

They were together as Ms. Led for 9 years, and they seemed very active in the local scene, but there’s very little real information on them online, and none of their music on Youtube except this track, New Agenda, which was apparently their first ever MV:

And this recording of them performing “Because Light Is A Woman” at KEXP in 2006:

ETA: APPARENTLY THEY HAVE TWO ALBUMS ON SPOTIFY and I did not manage to find them, thank you u/referencefox !

Most of the results from a cursory Google search are several articles about them disbanding in 2009, and playing their final show at the High Dive:

There’s also 2008 interview with Seattle PI:

And this list of concerts they played:

And this announcement of a concert they played Sunset Tavern in 2007, with several other Fish The Cat Records groups- a record label apparently started by Ms. Led for themselves and their friends:

They apparently released three albums between 2002 and 2007: Afternoon In Central Park (which has the track Buzzcut I’m obsessed with), These Things We Say (2004), and Shake Yourself Awake (2007). None of that is online ANYWHERE to listen to. (SEE ABOVE EDIT LOL)

What’s the point of this post? I guess I just wanted to share the former existence of this band whose track Buzzcut I was just introduced to via KEXP, and fucking loved, but now can never listen to again unless I somehow find an old album being resold somewhere. Wondering if any of their former fans might be lurking around this Subreddit?
