Seattle drivers, can we bring back the ‘thank you’ wave?

The ‘thank you’ wave is a small but impactful gesture that can ease tensions or possibly, brighten someone’s day

What is it? A small wave or hand-up acknowledging that someone has done something on the road to help you when they didn’t need to

When to use it? Some examples:

  1. Someone has let merge into a long line of cars when you should have gotten over well before

  2. Someone going the opposite direction has pulled over on a narrow neighborhood road to let you through a choke point first

  3. Someone has created space on a backed up road for your turn

  4. You have made a minor mistake and someone has showed patience by giving you time, space, or not honked

In 2026, can we all agree to spread this like wildfire on these crazy Seattle roads? BRING BACK THE WAVE, BRING BACK THE SONICS
