Most of the time when I went to Brouwer’s for a bite, I ordered the stoofvlees. The way they prepared it, it was like Belgian poutine. It was one of the most hearty and flavorful dishes I regularly ate while I lived in Seattle.
When I heard Brouwer’s was closing back in 2024, I was devastated, especially because I knew I’d probably never get to eat their stoofvlees again. My friends and I hoped that someone there might decide to post some of the recipes from their kitchen. One of my friends emailed the pub to beg for the stoofvlees recipe before they officially closed, but never heard back.
It’s been a couple years now, and my hopes of seeing the Brouwer’s stoofvlees recipe pop up have grown dimmer and dimmer. This is probably unlikely, but is there anyone here who might be able to share this recipe?
There are a number of recipes for stoofvlees or stoverij online, but I’m unsure which one might be the closest to Brouwer’s. I was thinking I’d give [this one](https://thehungrybelgian.com/2013/07/05/flemish-beef-stew/) a shot.
