You were seated right next to us. Your kid was hacking up a lung with one shoe on laying across your lap. Literally less than 2 feet from us.
I was out for a date night for the first time in forever. Using a gift card that was gifted to us for Christmas because we can’t usually afford this type of thing. The whole experience was ruined by your entitlement. There is no reason you should bring your child to a fancy restaurant… or any restaurant
… while they are coughing every 20 seconds (ESPECIALLY if they are unmasked)… I don’t care how much you love the food (as you told the server).
I had been looking forward to tonight for weeks. And now… now I can look forward to catching whatever your coughing child has bestowed upon us.
Anyways- shout out to the hostess who told the parents they are making other guests uncomfortable. No shout out to the parents who brought their clearly sick child to a restaurant.
I write all of this to say: please consider the people around you. And I can’t believe I have to say this, but please DO NOT bring your sick child to a restaurant.
