I’m talking about the street with Safeway and trader Joe’s and the stores around that place.
I bike everywhere and I live near Seattle center, and I don’t mind biking 6-7 miles on level roads (to Ballard, all over capital hill, downtown, sodo etc, or with a bus to Bellavue and then all over Bellavue / mercer). I’ve been all around the greater Seattle area on my bike from the islands to Redmond and tukwila but I haven’t seen a patch of land with better ambience than that area of Queen Anne.
The Safeway there looks beautiful, probably the best I’ve seen in America and I could name 20 other stores that just feel so good to be in.
My problem is 2 parts,
-
when you get out of Queen Anne, you enter shitland. there are good parts here and there but nothing with such beautiful ambience.
-
the one fuckin place I can’t bike uphill and have to push through almost a mile of steep slope happens to be the most beautiful place in Seattle. idk this kinda makes it special cuz it’s a lot of work to get there but I hate that it’s soo much work to get there.
I wish the rest of Seattle looked that nice, especially downtown and belltown.
