Things I did yesterday as a small business owner in Seattle

Things I did yesterday as a small business owner in Seattle
  1. Opened up and discovered my front door Wyze cam was missing.

  2. Went to the camera charger feeling like a dope for forgetting to put it out the night before.

  3. Found charger empty.

  4. Opened the app and watched two guys rip down and pocket the camera at 4:44am.

  5. Called police to report another attempted break-in and property damage/theft. Expressed concern that the suspects plan to come back.

  6. Was reminded that this concern is the just a reality of owning a small business in Seattle.

  7. Installed additional cameras and sensors throughout the building (thank you to our Buy Nothing neighbors for extra equipment!)

  8. Spent an extra 2 hours after closing taking pictures and videos to document our current inventory on the floor, and moving the most vulnerable items into less accessible areas.

  9. Woke up every hour overnight to check my cameras for new activity.

  10. Brought my frustration to Reddit so I’m not just sitting alone with it all day. Again.
