Hi everyone, I’ve been noticing recently how expensive food delivery has gotten around WA.
A $14 meal somehow turns into $21 even with a subscription, and once you add a tip (which most of us feel obligated to do because drivers aren’t paid well), that same meal ends up being $23+. Nobody’s really at wrong here, just how the system is set up.
I don’t really see a lot of people also complaining, maybe a lot of people are okay with it.
I also think local solutions matter. Technology often focuses on scaling globally, but sometimes local communities could benefit from tools built specifically for them. I am interested in knowing about how people feel about a platform that is no tipping, restaurants not forced to raise prices, and fair pay for drivers.
This is not a promotion because there is really nothing built, I would say more of a curiosity.
If you have a minute, I’d really appreciate your thoughts,
