Update: Situation resolved. Cops got the guy out of his car (after bringing in the big SWAT trucks to surround him. No one was hurt, not a single shot fired. I hope this man gets the help he needs. He could be heard shouting random nonsensical things and seemed pretty upset. I’m generally not a big cheerleader for cops but they did a really good job here and kept a lot of people safe tonight.
Stay away from the area. There is a man with a gun in the parking lot of Chiang’s Gourmet. Cops with shields and assault rifles, and a negotiator talking to the guy through a loudspeaker. The guy sounds pretty upset.
I can see the whole thing from my house. It is pretty tense, and surreal.
