Hey neighbors — I built a web app called SpotCheck and wanted honest feedback.
It’s for quick real-time updates about what’s actually going on at places nearby — the kind of stuff you really wish someone had told you before you left.
I’m thinking of very specific updates like:
- Bellevue Downtown Park splash pad is ‘open,’ but the water jets are off.
- “Target at Factoria has no carts at the front entrance right now — people are grabbing them from the parking lot.”
- “The pharmacy drive-thru at Walgreens on 148th is broken, so everyone is being sent inside.”
- “The trailhead lot at Rattlesnake filled up before 8 AM, and cars parked on the shoulder are getting ticketed.”
- “The Bellevue Square west garage is flashing FULL, but there are still spots on level 4 of the south garage.”
- “The EV chargers at the mall are full, but 2 stalls just opened near the movie theater side.”
It’s a cheat code for your city so you literally “know before you go.”.
I’m opening up a small private beta to see whether this is actually useful in real life.
If this sounds useful, comment with “YES” and/or “your area” (or an area you’d want to track) and 2–3 kinds of updates you’d actually want to know before heading somewhere.
