Howdy y’all.
I’m a 35M longtime resident of Bellevue, particularly the Wilburton neighborhood.
Was thinking about how churches provide a sense of community and a regular IRL social outing. Realized it’d be nice if something similar existed, but for the Atheists/Agnostics/Non-religious people.
That being said, I’m past my angry angsty atheist phase lol, and I don’t really want to hang out with people that just want to endlessly shit on religion. I’m more interested in finding people who have internalized atheism to the point where they’ve kind of forgotten other people even believe in god lol. I don’t like religion, and I fully recognize the problems they cause, but I just… don’t have much patience for being angry all the time I guess. I’d rather spend time with Atheists whose lack of religious beliefs open them up to truly acknowledging how incredible this universe is. I want to be around people who stare up at the stars and embrace the existential intensity of being human in an indifferent and ruthless universe.
Was thinking it’d be cool to have a regular in-person sorta get-together where we could go on walks, hikes, have picnics, and do that kind of thing. Stuff that is free or very cheap, and mostly focused on the social aspects. Bellevue has enough “pay to play” type of stuff, after all
Really curious if there is any interest!
Feel free to DM me as well if you don’t want to leave a comment.
