Does anyone have any experience battling local school boards?

Raisbeck Aviation High School, one of the top five ranked schools in the state, has recently had their principal, Therese Tipton, removed with no warning or communication to parents, students, or staff. Raisbeck is a small STEM school and receives no district funding for PE, music, or sports. PE and art state graduation requirements must be fulfilled on the parents’ dime. What they do have is an incredible career center, with direct access to internships and career opportunities for students in the local and national aviation and aerospace industry. The school board recently announced that they would be cutting funding for the career center, and understandably, that didn’t go over well with parents and staff. What we know is that the last time Ms. Tipton was seen by staff at school was a day in March, when she was scheduled to meet with the school board about the funding for the career center, saying “we’re not losing it without a fight.” She never returned to the school from that meeting, and has no communication with any staff members since. The only communication that staff received was that Ms. Tipton is on “approved leave”. The parents weren’t notified until a week later, with no details as to the reasons for the leave. The school board is banning Ms. Tipton from attending the upcoming graduation ceremony for the graduating seniors and won’t let her communicate directly with anyone.

Anything we as parents can do here? Obviously I don’t know exactly what happened, which is a big part of our issue. No one is saying anything, other than that Ms. Tipton is out and they’ve found an interim principal for the next school year.
