Hi everyone, On Saturday 6/14 at 10:30 AM, I was taking my 11 months old daughter on a walk. I was crossing 39th and Leary to head on the Burke: I double checked that the traffic light was green, and no cars were moving, and started walking across the crosswalk. A red car that had stopped suddenly accelerated and hit my daughter and I. Fortunately, the driver quickly realized what he was doing and since he was previously stopped, he didn’t have much momentum, so the collision didn’t have much force. The driver refused to give any kind of personal information and drove off, but I was able to get a picture of his car: before driving off, he bragged it wasn’t even his car, so he didn’t care if I took a picture. In the passenger side there was a woman who looked absolutely horrified about what just happened. I filed a police report with the SPD (which I shared with the mods).
