I only know about this from YouTube videos, so my knowledge is sketchy.
5 states have passed laws making plug-in solar panels legal. These plug directly into your outlet and do not require an electrician, permitting, or utility approval.
They generate a small amount of power and only run while the grid is up (a safety thing) so they are to reduce your electric bill, not make you off-grid.
But because they are plug-in and you can install them yourself they are much cheaper than conventional solar panel installation.
So is Seattle or Washington moving to legalize these?
