Anyone know why this willow tree was cut down on the Burke Gilman Trail?

It was near 70th st, street view link here.

I saw a man in an unmarked car originally cutting it down like a week ago? Didn’t seem like anything from the city. Was this privately owned?

I really loved this tree. Especially during the summer. I ride this trail almost every day and it was upsetting seeing it gone 🙁
