Common Ground Wildlife is a new 501(c)3 non-profit in the greater Seattle area born out of the Seattle Coyote Study that aims to support human-wildlife coexistence via education/outreach, research, and disease monitoring.
Our founder, Dr. Sam Kreling, will be answering your questions about coyotes using our research with the Seattle Coyote Study to back it up and dispelling common myths. We’re not here to make you love coyotes and recognize they can be challenging to live with, but they’re here and we can’t get rid of them (the United States has tried repeatedly since European colonization), so let’s learn how to co-exist.
Much of the fear around coyotes comes from mis-information and many of the conflicts we do face with them comes from the ways we interact with these animals that can lead to unwanted behaviors (wildlife feeding is a big one!).
