Ballard – Fred Meyer QR code bathroom access

This is insane. A QR code to open a bathroom door?
Has your phone never died? Have you never tried to teach anyone over the age of 50 to do anything with their phone?

I didn’t have my phone on me (this pic was taken by my partner later on) and my partner was across the store. No customers were passing by the restrooms for a long while. I asked a worker and they said I have to wait for someone to exit if I didn’t have my phone?

I shit you not, I watched a disabled man with one arm, cane in hand, try to scan and open the door. It must have timed out and locked again by the time he put his phone back in his pocket and balanced the cane back in his hand bc the door did not open.

I think we lost the plot as a society, Seattle.
