So half the power in my unit went out last night including my refrigerator. I’ve been texting maintenance since then to flip the breaker downstairs since it is not in my unit and not accessible to any tenants. No one has responded so I called today and they said that they might have to charge me for someone to come out and flip the breaker but they won’t tell me how much they’re going to charge. This seems illegal and if it’s not it should be. All my food is going to go bad. Food is really expensive right now as we all know. I have paid rent on time every single month I’ve never caused a problem at this building and now they’re going to charge me money to go downstairs and simply flip a breaker.
Anyone know what I can do here?
