So I’m aware that sweeps don’t address the underlying problem of encampments and just shuffle people around but what are residents supposed to do when you can’t even walk your kid to the park without stepping in human shit and dodging aggressive, unleashed dogs and their humans? Now, people are ringing our doorbell during dinner to ask for change and walking to the light rail station feels like you’re about to be stabbed.
I don’t want to be a NIMBY dick, I just want to take my kids to the park safely without having to explain the ins and outs of addiction but it’s a little hard when grown men without pants on are screaming gibberish at them and acting like horror movie monsters. If it was just people camping that would be one thing, but the folks out here should not be in public as they are functioning currently.
Its a matter of time before they find a body over here.
