I pay for Link light rail using tap-to-pay with a credit card in Google Wallet. I’ve noticed it can take hours for the transaction to actually show up in Google Wallet, whereas with other vendors it’s near instant.
Yesterday a fare inspector wasn’t convinced I’d bought a ticket. He showed me the app he uses to check the last four digits of my card, and it was throwing 500 errors. He then wanted to see my pending transactions, which I objected to — I’m not going to show a stranger what I’ve been buying. It would have been pointless anyway, since I knew the tap hadn’t shown up yet.
I’m going to reach out to Sound Transit, but I’m curious whether others have experienced the same slowness and whether anyone has managed to fix it on their end. Thanks!
