I want to see a show this winter. I’ve never done this before and I’m curious what the market will look like. The tickets aren’t on sale yet thru seattle.broadway.com (which, as far as I can figure, is the only official site to buy them online). To all the regular showgoers, what am I in for as far as ticket availability and timing?
If I sign up for their newsletter it sounds like I might get early access. Would that let me buy them in person at the box office and avoid all the online fees? Does buying in person even save you any money these days?
Resellers like seatgeek are already offering tickets. I assume these are people planning to scalp them once they become available, and I’d rather not be a party to that if I can avoid it. Or should I just grin and bear it and accept that this is the only realistic way to get tickets?
What’s the smart move here?
