I’ve been dealing with fibroid issues for months, and I’m having a really hard time finding a surgeon who performs robotic/laparoscopic surgery with cold-knife extraction using the ExCITE method.
I’m specifically looking for a surgeon who can remove the fibroid without power morcellation, because I’m concerned about the possibility, however small, that the fibroid may not be benign and I want to minimize the risk of spreading abnormal or malignant tissue if that were the case.
It’s been 3 months of waiting, I’ve spoken with three surgeons so far, and unfortunately, all of them use power morcellation. Its bit frustrating to wait for a few months just to find their approach is something I don’t feel comfortable with.
If you’ve had experience with a surgeon who performs ExCITE or another method of contained, non-power extraction, I would really appreciate any recommendations or leads. Thank you so much! ❤️
