Yes, I am aware that I don’t have to order. That’s not the point of my post.
Whenever I order these days, it seems it takes 60-90 mins to deliver, after $15-20 fees (before tip and that’s even after having dash pass).
The driver has 1-2 deliveries before mine and the food arrives cold. I usually have to microwave it before I start eating.
I don’t get delivery often, when I do it’s after a 12-15 hour shift when I cannot cook, and don’t have food in the kitchen anyway. It’s just disappointing what these have turned into. Ordering delivery food in general used to be accessible with a small flat fee. These companies have created a situation where the restaurant, customer and even the driver all lose and they collect so much money.
Are there any other delivery alternatives at all? Even the pizza places use these apps and it’s just more of the same.
Edit: people still continue to be super condescending. I am aware I could walk. I am also aware I could meal prep, or order extra. Delivery is for when I am too tired to do any of those other, better options, and don’t have any other food in the fridge. I know this is the internet but man sometimes people are disrespectful for no reason at all.
