So there’s a Threads post going around from a woman who worked in prepared foods at the Metropolitan Market in Crown Hill for about 4 months before quitting. She dropped a bunch of screenshots and it’s not pretty.
• Apparently there’s barely any management in the prep foods department. Team leads hide in the office ~75% of the time. One time uncooked chicken tenders got stocked in place of the cooked ones for the fried chicken sandwich — they look identical — and people got served raw chicken. Nothing was done.
• The poke lead left raw poke sitting out for around 5 hours, then put it back in the cooler to “cool down” and use again.
• Hot bar food is usually the same batch from the morning with no temp logs or time controls. She says don’t expect anything fresh until like 3pm.
• There’s a big ant and fly problem in the back because of lack of cleaning, and she says management doesn’t care.
• Most of the hand washing sinks in the back have no soap or paper towels. People just change gloves instead of washing hands.
• She also says management profiles customers constantly, especially Black customers — following people down aisles, staring them down, yelling at unhoused people to get out assuming they’re stealing. She brought it up and nothing happened.
Take it with a grain of salt since it’s one person’s experience, but this looks bad.
