Visiting Seattle for the first time as a solo woman traveler! For context I live in DC, and I’m from Louisiana. Just wanted to share my personal experience for anyone nervous about visiting the city based on the “Seattle Freeze/Seattle Chill.”
I’ve been here for 4 days now and while I’m sure this is biased, Seattle has been so kind to me! People have smiled at me on the street, answered questions I’ve asked, and more. Even in Pike Place when it was extremely congested, people said excuse me and smiled.
Again, I think generalizations can work both ways (and I’m sure the gorgeous weather has helped everyone’s attitudes,) but I never felt uncomfortable or like I was given the cold shoulder!
Every city has its quirks, but I’ve really enjoyed Seattle!
