Has anyone else noticed a noticeable increase in the unhoused population around the U District over the past few weeks? It feels like it’s reaching a tipping point. Just this morning, I saw a guy who looked like he’d recently been maced harassing an elderly resident at his home (he even grabbed the homeowner’s garden hose and started spraying him with it). As absurd as the situation looked, I stuck around just to make sure the older man was alright and the guy moved on.
Wondering if a camp elsewhere was broken up and they were pushed over here.
