Hey y’all.
I’ve been to plenty of board game meetups, and while the games have been fun, the social side has been a little rough. Explaining a complicated rule? No problem. Having a conversation that isn’t about the game? Apparently a much bigger ask.
Not to sound mean, but I’ve been going to meetups to try and find friends, and I haven’t clicked with many people at these meetups. I want to play something heavy, talk some shit, and get to know the people across the table. Maybe get along enough to grab dinner with new people sometime.
What’s the deal, am I just going to the wrong meetups or is that just Seattle for me. Anyone found a group around Seattle where that’s the vibe? Or in the same boat and want to get something going?
