i’ve never made a post before lol this feels so silly but i saw some success stories in this subreddit so thought itd be worth a shot
last night, i was in downtown seattle around 10pm. I was semi-dressed up, and i had my black hair pulled into a ponytail. i had just seen my first live jazz performance (shoutout Jazz Alley) and was trying to catch the lightrail back home. the doors to the westlake center mall were all locked up so i couldnt figure out how to get to the station. i spent a good 20 minutes circling the building and crossing streets and atp was ready to just uber home.
then I saw a guy around my age, probably 25ish, also jostle the doors to the monorail entrance. i asked him for directions. turns out he was catching a train too, and we started chatting. we barely spoke for 2 minutes, but we talked about where we’re from and where we work. he said he works at amazon kindle as a software engineer. thankfully i got his name (verification: if this was you, pls DM me your name and i’ll tell you mine!). we stepped off the escalators, ready to split paths, but as we were saying “goodbye” and “nice meeting you”, i feel like we both hesitated a little? like we wanted to continue talking but didnt know how?
i’m so annoyed that i didnt just ask for his insta or number haha. in case you see this, i thought you were cute. thank you for making me feel safe when i was lost in the city at night. and if this post doesnt do much else, i hope you got home safely and that our paths cross again someday 🙂
