Unsafe Pedestrian Behavior

I live in Cap Hill and I’m astonished at how many people walk/run across the street without checking for oncoming traffic, expecting drivers will stop. I understand that Seattle has a pro-pedestrian, anti-car sentiment (and I agree!), but I’ve seen so many people walk/run across busy streets without stopping for one second to look both ways. This specifically pertains to areas without crosswalks.

The main reason I posted this is because I saw a woman jogging with headphones on push her baby stroller into Thomas (busy street!) without even stopping for a second! A car screeched out of the way and she began yelling. You and your children’s lives are more important than your right of way. Please, for the love of God, just a glance!

Edit for clarification: I do not drive. Also, she probably did have the right of way! This less about the legality and more about endangering yourself when drivers aren’t always paying attention. Like, basically don’t trust cars to stop! People are on their phones!
