Was driving on 405 today and got stuck in gridlock for an accident further down the road. An ambulance was coming up behind me so I moved as far out of their way as I could (as did most people around me). An asshole immediately saw this as an opportunity to drive up the open area and proceeded to get stuck and block traffic including the ambulance which started honking.
After about 30 seconds they were finally able to move out of the way and then immediately started following the ambulance to cut through traffic.
I’m curious, how do emergency responders handle things like this? Do you just have to wait for oblivious drivers to move?
